Day in the life

Take a look at what a day looks like at Mabel & Friends.

08:00 - 09:00

Our guests arrive! The fun begins at our day retreat as the dogs come bounding through the doors with their bouncy personalities.

09:00 - 10:00

As soon as the dogs arrive they’re free to explore our outdoor area, where they can put their noses to use. This lets them really get familiar with their environment, with grass to sniff, space to run around in and toys galore. We play plenty of games during this period, with splash pools, ropes, agility games and more.

10:15 - 11:15

The first nap time, a crucial part of any dog’s day. The average pooch needs around 12-14 hours sleep a day, with puppies needing up to 18 hours! Even if they’re not sleeping, this downtime encourages neutrality between the dogs. We calm the environment down so they can relax with one another, whether they’re sat in the sunshine, curled up on the sofas or relaxing in front of the TVs. We also use this time to bond with the dogs and provide health checks.

11:30 - 12:30

We help them wake up with some brain games, encouraging the dogs to use their noses and minds. We also incorporate lunchtime into this (if required), so it’s more fun and interactive.

12:30 - 13:30

Another nap time for full day guests helps them keep their energy up.

13:30 - 15:30

We get the games back out and open up the doors again for a big play session. Our guests get to enjoy all of the retreat’s best equipment. This is also when we do our paid extended off-site walks and swims if this service is requested.

15:45 - 17:00

Time to unwind for the last part of the day. It’s another chance for us to bond with the dogs, perform health checks and help them relax. TVs on, blankets at the ready, plenty of cuddles – the perfect end to the day.

17:30 - 18:00

It’s finally home time. Dogs are either dropped home or collected by pawrents, heading home clean, happy and healthy! We can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow.
